Madagascar houses over 200.000 unique species of plants and animals. Deforestation has long been an issue for Madagascar. More than 90% of Madagascarβs original forests have been destroyed, displacing entire animal species and taking away the communityβs ability to live off the land. It is one of the worldβs top biodiversity conservation priorities because of its high concentration of species and excessive habitat loss.
The Bambook planting site is located in northwestern Madagascar, within one of the worldβs most distinctive dry deciduous forest zones. Unfortunately, much of this tropical forest has been destroyed, placing native plant and animal species at risk.
Together with Eden Projects weβve planted 1.6 million trees to restore and expand vital habitats for wildlife. Since the end of 2024, our planting site is fully reforested (hooray!). A beautiful achievement weβre proud of.
To keep making meaningful impact for the future, weβve been working with veritree since 2025. As our reforestation partner, veritree fits seamlessly with Bambookβs purpose. They work with over 100,000 companies worldwide and are committed to restoring where it matters most in ways that are tangible, transparent, and trackable.
Weβre planting trees in three vulnerable regions: Kenya, Tanzania and Senegal. These areas benefit greatly from reforestation; reviving ecosystems, improving living conditions, and strengthening local communities.
With your Bambook, youβre supporting a project that restores nature and empowers people.
